AFT-WV victorious in fight against PEIA take backs!

 Charleston, WV – At today’s PEIA Finance Board meeting, employees were saved from the benefit cuts that were proposed for the next fiscal year. Only moments prior to the meeting, Governor Tomblin committed an additional $4 million to prevent these benefit reductions, which included huge increases on specialty drugs and additional out of pocket costs, penalizing the sickest and most vulnerable people in the plan.

2013 AFT-WV Legislative Agenda

During the 2012  AFT-WV Legislative Retreat, AFT members from across the state gathered in Charleston to prioritize the union's  legislative agenda. The recommendations from the retreat are compiled and prepared for final approval during the AFT-WV Convention.

Convention delegates elect new AFT-WV officers and executive board

Congratulations to the newly-elected AFT-WV officers and executive board members! Convention delegates elected the following leaders on October 20, 2012:

Judy Hale, President

Christine Campbell, President-elect (Pocahontas Co.)

Stacey Strawderman, Vice-president (Marion Co.)

Beth Kitzmiller, Secretary (Webster Co.) ; and

Greg Merritt, Treasurer (Wood Co.)

Elected as Executive Board Members-at-Large were:
