In compliance with Article VI of the AFT-WV Constitution, the Executive Board officially issues this call for the Federation’s Constitutional Convention, scheduled to convene as follows:
Dates: November 2-4, 2017
Times: Thursday, Nov. 2 (6:00 - 8:00 PM)
Registration: $45.00 Registration Fee per delegate
7:30 - 9:00 PM Reception
Friday, Nov. 3 (8:00 - Noon - Registration)
8:30 - Noon Convention
Noon -1:30 PM Lunch
1:30 - 5:00 PM Convention & Workshops

8:30 - Noon Convention & Special Election
The 2017 AFT-WV Constitutional Convention will be held at the Marriott Town Center in Charleston, West Virginia. This is not an election year; however a special election must be held to fill the vacancy of three member-at-large positions on the state executive board. A special election edition of the AFT-WV Election Newsletter will be mailed soon with nominating forms. It is also the purpose of this convention to review any needed or requested amendments to our state constitution and/or by-laws. We wish to encourage every local to send representation. Your participation in your state federation will help to ensure its success in the coming years.
Additionally, the AFT-WV Leadership Conference will precede the Convention, beginning Thursday morning.

Note: Local unions or delegates are responsible for the cost of their rooms. AFT-WV has guaranteed a block of rooms for your use. These rooms will be released on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please reserve lodging before October 9th. We will try to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend. Please be advised that there will be a $45.00 per delegate registration fee.
