The PEIA Finance Board will be conducting public hearings, starting Monday, regarding the changes passed by the WV Legislature during the 2023 Session.
While it was the Legislature, and not the PEIA Finance Board, who was directly responsible for the upcoming premium increases and spousal coverage changes, it is still important for education and public employees to attend the public hearings and speak about how these changes affect your family. It is also important to draw attention to the elected officials who were responsible for the upcoming premium increases. Click here for a printable flyer to see how your legislators voted on SB 268, the bill that increases PEIA premiums and makes changes to spousal coverage.
The PEIA’s Finance Board met on Thursday, March 23rd and went over the three possibilities for implementing the changes passed by the Legislature. During the hearings, they will present these three options to attendees. You can view the powerpoint presentation from Thursday's meeting with details of the three implementation options within this linked MetroNews article by Brad McElhinney.
