Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the WV Secretary of State has extended absentee ballot voting to include anyone who is concerned that voting in person during the May 12 primary could affect their health.
The process is fairly simple and another way we can help flatten the curve in our state to protect the health of ourselves and fellow citizens and also reduce the burden on our health care system and its workers.
To request an absentee ballot, simply print and complete the application at the link below:

Under section 4 on the application, check "illness, injury or medical reason."
After completing the form, submit it to your local county clerk.
Applications may be submitted to your county clerk via fax, U.S. mail, email, or in-person by hand delivery. The absentee ballot application must be received in your county clerk’s office by the 6th day before each election.

Voters may submit an absentee ballot application beginning January 1 for the upcoming May Primary Election, and beginning on the 84th day before the General Election. Absentee ballots will be mailed to your home address, beginning on the 46th day before the election.
