Charleston, WV - After a second round of mediation today between the affected parties, a tentative agreement has been reached to settle a dispute regarding wages and benefits of school employees in Boone County. The case stems from the Boone County Board of Education’s decision to eliminate the county salary supplement for teachers and service personnel in 2016.

AFT-WV, as a member of the WV AFL-CIO, participates the the AFL-CIO's endorsement process. This process begins with the local AFL-CIO labor councils, who interview and vote on endorsement actions to present to the state AFL-CIO COPE Committee.
AFT-WV wants to make sure our members are included in all our updates, polls and other communications. In many instances, it is vital to be able to quickly share information with members.
UPDATE: Due to comments from educators and the public, the state superintendent has indicated that he will recommend keeping the graduation credits the same. However, comments are still needed regarding the proposed change in the definition of a lesson plan.
