Wear BLUE and RED for public ed!
What’s This Campaign About
-Public schools are under attack. The Trump administration wants to slash education funding and gut the Department of Education, so he can give tax cuts to billionaires. These cuts will hit the kids who need the most support—students in poverty, students with disabilities, and working-class families.
-We’re fighting back. On the federal level, no more cuts. No block grants. Protect our kids. On the state level, we need lawmakers to focus on PEIA, pay and student behavior instead of culture war issues.
What We Need Everyone to Do
-Wear blue and red for public ed on March 4th.... take pics of staff in your school and post on your personal social media. Tag AFT-WV's facebook also! Use the hashtag #ProtectOurKids
-Hold informational honk and waves in your county. Contact your AFT local president to see if one is scheduled for your county. Use this informational flyer to inform parents and the public about what's at stake.
-Contact your members of congress (go to https://www.aft.org/ProtectOurKids and use the Contact Congress tool on the lower right side of the page)
