AFT-WV is offering two online courses to meet our members needs: Foundations of Effective Teaching & Thinking Math

- Foundations of Effective Teaching
This research-based class consists of modules of effective teaching and learning strategies in the classroom. Topics include physical space conducive to learning, innovative lesson plans and classroom management.
Class will meet using Microsoft Teams from 9:30 AM– 11:30 AM on the following dates: Oct. 17 & 31, Nov. 14 & Dec. 5. Taught by Meredith Hahn & Amanda Moles.
- Thinking Math
Thinking Math is a standards and research based approach to teaching mathematics. Participants will learn a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to help students understand math concepts.
Class will meet using Microsoft Teams from 9:30 AM– 11:30 AM on the following dates: Oct. 17, Nov. 7 & 21 & Dec. 5. Taught by Greg Merritt and Mark Purcell.
Graduate credit available through West Virginia State University.
$125 per 3 hr. class for AFT members only.
